UPDATED: OCTOBER 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information StevenKeene.com collects when you visit the site, send a message, join the mailing list or buy from the store, and how that information is used. The site is run by Steven Keene. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
Information You Give Us
Contact form. When you send a message, the site collects your first and last name, email address, phone number if you give one, the department you choose (Management, Distribution, Booking, Press or Other) and your message. These are stored on the site and emailed to Steven Keene and his team so they can reply.
Mailing list. If you sign up for updates, either with the newsletter form or by leaving the “Yes, sign me up for updates on new releases and tour dates!” box ticked on the contact form, your first name, last name and email address are added to Steven Keene’s mailing list, which is managed by Mailchimp. Contact-form sign-ups are tagged with the department you chose. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed by writing to the address above.
Store orders. When you buy from the store, the site collects your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and what you ordered. Payment is handled by PayPal on PayPal’s own pages; this site never receives or stores your card or bank details. Order notices are emailed to Steven Keene and to the site’s web team, Dreamentia Creative Laboratories, which looks after the site.
Information Collected Automatically
Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and which streaming links they follow. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device type and approximate location. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Meta Pixel. The site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits from Facebook and Instagram and to show Steven Keene’s posts and ads to people who have visited the site. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you. You can change this in your Facebook ad preferences.
Store visits. The store estimates your country from your IP address to work out shipping and tax, and keeps a cookie that records how you arrived at the site (for example from a search or a link) so that information can be attached to an order.
Security. To keep the site safe, its security tools and its network provider, Cloudflare, record IP addresses and basic details of each request. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam, which sends information about your visit to Google.
Videos, Music Players and Other Services
YouTube videos and the Spotify player show a still image until you press play. When you press play, the player loads from YouTube or Spotify, and that service may set its own cookies and record that you watched or listened. The Instagram feed shows images loaded from Instagram’s servers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address. The accessibility menu is provided by UserWay and may remember the display settings you choose. Links to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube Music and social media take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
How Information Is Used
Steven Keene uses this information to answer messages, send the updates you asked for, fill and ship orders, understand how the site is used, measure promotion of his music and keep the site secure. Your information is not sold.
Who Information Is Shared With
Information is shared only with the services that run the site and its features: Nexcess (web hosting), Cloudflare (network and security), Dreamentia Creative Laboratories (site management), Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Fonts, YouTube and email), Meta (Pixel), Mailchimp (mailing list), PayPal (payments), Spotify, Instagram and UserWay. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.
How Long Information Is Kept
Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for no more than two years. Order records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting. Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics’ retention settings.
Your Choices and Rights
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, block or delete cookies in your browser and use the opt-out links above. You can ask to see, correct or delete the information held about you by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live, for example in California or the European Union, you may have further rights under local law, and requests will be handled as those laws require.
